BG C100. Another "first" mass produced electric in US. VIDEO

http://www.zoomilife.com/2008/11/14/bgs-c100-to-become-first-mass-produced-electric-car-available-in-usa/

Sounds like a deal to me. up to 120mile range, 50mph, all safety equipments, normal looking and all this for under 18 grand?? Here is the killer: $7500 gobment rebate to sweeten the deal!

Anyone know what kind of batteries it will have on the 18k option?

The ZENN isn't mass produced?  That car has been around since 2006.

Zenn can be (have been) mass produced but not mass bought. For one reason or another it does not pass safety regulations and can only go so fast, and so far. If BG lives to their promise on price and performance, then with the new guy in the White house it has a good chance to be a real seller.I mean, whats missing? It looks great, goes fast and far enough, well priced and will save the owner hundreds of dollars on gas a month, thus pretty much paying its lease  :)
Me says bring it on before the BYD takes over the world.

Don't want to be a nay-sayer but so far all they've shown for sure is the ability to build a nice website.

Call me when they've got a Gov approved vehicle, a dealer network and actual "for sale" cars sitting in showrooms

Looks familiar?  ;) This is a Chinese Changan which will be shipped to Canada to be equipped here with a motor and a Li battery pack at Electrovaya. Is it possible then both companies are talking about the same car? If not, it seems Changan can be imported as a barebone kit (almost duty free car parts on papers) and then put together at home. This way under 20 grand price tag is not surprising as a gas engine equipped Changan sells in China for around $5000 US.
