Another Legacy review...at least this time the author gives it right in the face of SOC.

My opinion of the Legacy, like the car itself, remains mostly the same for 2008: too pricey for what it is and too small inside for what it wants to be.

Are you listening SOC? People don't buy 45K legacy.

I have yet to drive a 2008 but the ’06 and ‘07 with the MT5 were awesome. The Wagon is on my list for my wife’s replacement along with the OBXT.

This is the 5th Legacy review (and 4th of some type of GT variant Wagon,Sedan Spec B) in the last year.

Enough already. Is Subaru trying to generate sales via free exposure on this site? Its not working. Familiarity breeds contempt and since the car hasn't changed we all know what it will say..and what the next test n 6 months will say.

While I appreciate people have a job to do and you don't want to alienate manufacturers enough is enough.

Did you hear! I bought 2 Wagons from our southern friends and saved 9-11K on each wagon.  My neighbour bought 3 wagons from maine and states its like buying 2 and getting 1 free.

I dunno, I was seriously underwhelmed by the 2006 Legacy GT I test-drove.  Interior materials were nothing special, the transmission was truly subpar, steering feel was nonexistent, and the car just plain felt heavy.  The engine was a gem, but that was the only highlight for me.  In my opinion, there are better cars out there for the price.  And that's how I feel in the USA, where Subarus are relatively cheaper ($28k for a base LGT, if I recall correctly).  For CAN$40,000, there's no way I'd drive off in a Legacy.

I don’t understand the issues with the MT5? I have driven many MT’s and although not perfect I have no issues with it other than it is missing a gear and 5th is rather tall and not spaced properly.

I have to agree. For such a small manufacturer with a limited model lineup and such a tiny market share Subaru sure seems to get a lot of reviews here??? Do companies pay a fee to get featured here?

No we DO NOT get paid to review their cars.  They offer their cars, we take them and review them, employees of CanadianDriver get paid their regular amount just like any other business, most journalists are freelance and get paid per article.  Subaru is being very aggressive at handing out press cars lately.

I would - and have - argued it's too small inside, but so are most of the entry Euro cars and Lexus IS they're trying to compete with.

I'd agree there. It's funny but it seems to me that a lot of cars I  used to think a good size 15 years ago now seen small.

 (It couldn't be that I've gotten bigger could it??? )
