Hankook Icebear... W300 or W400?

i first started looking at snow tires at tiretrends.com and decided on the hankook icebear w300. but when i went to the hankook website, they list another icebear with the same size, but it's called a w400. they don't share the same tire pattern, but the specs look the same.

the w400 costs a bit more than the w300, but i can't find much info on it. tiretrends dosen't sell the w400....

is this a new tire? what am i missing?

Perhaps you are looking at the US web site. Here is the URL for the Canadian site and they do list the W300. http://www.hankooktire.ca/tireproduct.asp?cat=5&model=1. W400 is actually an older tire no longer sold in Canada. W300 is one of their newer tires, which we have been selling for 4 seasons. We have had great success with this tire.

W440 is a different type of winter. It is T-Rated and directional. Made for deep snow and severe ice conditions. Sold quite a few since we brought them in last year and they have done very well.

We have the Hankook 404 on the Sienna.  Very happy with so far (one season), seems to be wearing fine.  Did not put studs in it as there are some areas (parking garages and few others) that do not allow studs.
