Michelin Hydroedge vs Michelin Destiny Vs Goodyear Triple tred
« on: October 10, 2005, 02:20:25 am »
I have Honda Accord size is 195 65 R15  currently installed with 89H. I want to know which tires (all season) should i get
Michelin Hydroedge costs me 753 installed but no wheel alignment
Michelin Destiny 575 everything included.
Goodyear Triple tred 599 balancing and installation but no alignment

Is Michelin Destiny same as the Michelin Harmony or Michelin X royale or they are different.

Costco has Michelin Energy Xv4 i guess for 683 everything included how are these tires compared to destiny or any other ones.

I also heard Triple tred gets noiser after 8000kms and they decrease your mileage. Is this true??

I also want to know whether tiretrends, tiretrac does the installtion of tires as well or not

thanks

Michelin MXV4 is a completely different tire than the Michelin Destiny/Harmony or something else depending where you buy. MXV4 is a performance touring tire with the H-speed rating your vehicle requires. The Destiny/Harmony/X  is an S-Rating, which is lower and will diminish your braking and handling capability. Hydroegde is a T-Rating, which is also lower. What do you want from your tires?

Where are you located?

I am located in Vancouver BC. Mostly i am looking for nice comfortable tires. I don't have much experince with tires so don't know which tire is right for my car. I have 4 door Honda Accord 99 currently they are installed with 195/65/R15 89H. So you are saying that MXV4+ is better then Hydroedge. I am only considering hydroedge or triple tred cause lots of people have good to say about these tires. Whereas I didn't find much reviews for MXV4+. I hardly drive my vehicle more then 90km/h

Canadian tires have hydroedge on special order for 138 set of 4 for 650
and Desity for 108 set of four for 575
and Costco have MXV4+ for 145 set of 4 for 683
Fountain tire have Goodyear Assurance Triple tred set of 4 for 599.
I am considering between these don't know which is better and reliable tire
thanks

Not saying the MXV4 is better, but the type of construction is more suitable. Tires I would consider for Vancouver would be:

BFG Traction T/A (great reviews)
Kumho Ecsta ASX (performance/value)
Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S (Premium Performance)
Yokohama Avid H4S
Falken ZE-512 (inexpensive value)
