I'm planning on buying a new car in the Vancouver region.  What vehicle taxes and levies set by the gov't should I be aware of?

I know of:
 A/C - $100+GST
 Tires - $3+GST
 Battery - $5+GST

I also remember seeing a $120 levy/tax from somewhere -- Translink? Environment?

Ah, stupid me. $3 x 5 tires (including spare) + $100 + $5 = $120

Don't forget the depreciation tax...it's around 30% right off the lot!

No PST? 8% in BC, I thought only in AB it was 0

Thirdwheel was talking only GVRD taxes (Greater Vancouver Regional Dist). Of course, GST and PST apply to any purchase and PST in BC is 7%, not 8%.

Yep.  But as far as I know, all the taxes mentioned so far are either federal or provincial.

I don't recall there being any GVRD specific taxes (they get you with AirCare later on).
