Who else would pull this one off. A New Car Dealer in Kansa City is offering the 2004 Trailblazers for $30.000 and giving you a new Aveo as well. This dealer is swamped with customers and had to go buy more trailblazers from other dealers to keep his Clients happy. Curtosy of the GM insider News.

I read a while ago about a Nissan dealer that gave away used Sentras when you purchased a Maxima (or was it an Altima).

But giving away a new car when purchasing a Trailblazer, that's pretty cool. I doubt they'll be doing this for long though or else they won't be in business for long!

Since when is any dealer in business to loose Money. He has had to go out and find more of the trailblazers. You don't do that to loose Money. Some people never figure things out do they.

Dealer was giving away cavaliers here last year with every corvette purchase.

A few months ago a US dealer was giving away an aveo with any car purchase of corvette, trailblazer, tahoe, etc etc.  Basically anything in the $30k range.

Man, does anyone like or trust dealers anywhere, anytime?? Maybe I'm just lucky, but among the poor ones, there are some that are very good and customer satifaction is #1 on their list of important things (finding, of course, that satisfied customers come back and also tell others). Maybe some of the complainers should try to run a successful car dealership themselves? That might be interesting.

Incidently, my step-father was a Ford dealer for years in a small AB town, so I do have some insight into how they work (albeit a number of years ago).

Dealers make thier profit in many ways so when they give away a 2nd vehicle they are not loosing any money at all. One way or another they do make a good profit. Sometimes selling a whole lot at once makes you more then a few at a time with a higher price on them.

Well considering that invoice on a U.S. RWD Trailblazer LS starts at about $25,000 and estimating an additional $4000-$5000 in rebates, it is easy to see how $30,000 would buy a Trailblazer and a $10,000 Aveo.

There's no great mystery behind dealership promotions. The key is just presenting what appears to be a better-than-usual deal to the generally uninformed public.

You are correct but the average Joe on the street isen't privy to these No.s so to him its a good deal. It would be here in Canada for sure. 2 for $30.000 they would sell very well here as well.  The old Fords with the free Isetta did years ago so what has changed?
