Quiet Weekend, the week ahead?
« on: September 20, 2004, 01:42:42 pm »
Tough weekend for racing fans, but an exciting week coming up!!!  Canadian F1 fans have the most enthusiasm they have had in over a year, and Champcar Fans have a new oval to peruse this weekend as well!

I heard there was a Cab race yesterday, but I couldn't find it (missed it) on the dial.

Jaques is in the car for Renault this weekend in China.  Inaugural track, in Testing he was within a Frog's hair of Kimi at Silverstone, can he podium?

Champcars go to Vegas!!! Saturday night, at LVMS, part two of a double header with Nascar Truck series!!!!!  The F1 race is on TSN Saturday night, so TSN brings us the coverage 8 am Sunday morning taped delayed.  I will be watching on RaceDirector.

Yeah, it was a quiet weekend, for sure.  The tin top race was on the tube somewhere, but I successfully avoided it.

I did manage to catch the highlights of the WRC Rally Wales GB.  The conditions were cr*p despite moving the date to try and get better weather.  Rain and mist might be bad for fans, but it sure makes good rally racing. Plus there was a pretty good battle for the win. (I suppose we should have a "spoiler" convention here, no?)

The Nascar race seemed to be tape delayed on TSN. I was in a panic because Nascar.com's headline said "the race is underway!" and I couldn't find the bloody thing. I guess it was necessary to watch the U.S. get their a$$es handed to them during the Ryder Cup on SIX channels!

But alas, the race started as I was getting ready for work...I got to watch 4 laps. Thanks TSN!!! Jerks....

You now that scene in Leathal Weapon with Leo Getz describing what happens at the drive-tru?  Well its the same thing TSN does to race fans ALL THE TIME!!  Not a stick and ball fan?  Sorry.  Warm up your VCR! Or have the outcome spoiled by some facking results ticker before you can catch up!

Man, this tin-foil hat sure makes the brain overheat.....ahhhh....that's better.

Those are the only ones they don't stomp all over.  In the wee hours of the morning or late at night.

I'm getting over it, really I am.

Ah he's a good Ukranian boy!!  NOw wuzzup with Holly Horton?  Did they have to take her and a draft pick for Tim's sponsorship?  She's brutal.

Dutchy's a big city boy now.  There's no going back to the farm.  Besides, we still have to put up with him here, just not on car dealership TV commercials anymore.
