Note in the video, the OEM OBD connector in his Toyota is white (someone in the comments says all Toyota factory OBD connectors are white) while the added dongle's connector is black.

Saw the video the other day. Note, you cannot connect two (or more) devices to the OBD port at the same time via a Y cable.
What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!

A true driver's car does not have cup holders.

Question. If you are leasing then do you have the right to remove or disable a tracker? Technically the car is not yours. Could be the same deal on a long term loan as well?

My guess is if a tracker is mentioned in the lease agreement then no, but otherwise why supply free personal info to anybody? It should be illegal if not disclosed.

The story continues. Hopefully some mass media outlet will pick it up and something good will come out of it.

Cliff Notes?

Guy hired a lawyer, confronted the dealer on camera (no video of this yet) and predictably, the dealer came up with a ton of excuses. I won't be surprised if this ends up in court.

But why would they track him?

What was the dealer to gain by tracking the guy?

I think it could mostly be daisy chained, a simple OBD2 read will work but I know people can’t tune their vehicles.
