Drove by this lot on the weekend and saw one of these trucks sitting out front.

Could those have been two trucks that were ordered by customers who paid deposits, only to have their allocations 'cancelled' by the dealer once the trucks arrived and they didn't want to pay any further dealer markups?

Seems to me like any Lightning that gets ordered already has a buyer with a deposit, UNTIL the truck comes in and the dealer wants their ADM.
….there are many mannequins. They are just now hitting the market, Ford had a strict 6 months sale on them. Many mannequins were either Platinum or fully loaded Lariats.

And availability for the Lightning is slightly improving - dealers even got to order some trucks for their own stock.

Folks, anyone driving a decently equipped F-150 today is paying $70k+…anyone wanting a cheap truck you gotta go somewhere else. Ford is trying to target these at a higher income bracket.

Yeah, but that can at least go 600+ kms year round on a tank of fuel and can get out of your neighborhood before needing to be recharged when towing.....

I always start my mornings with a full tank of gas, I don’t drive 600km everyday…

Again, EVs work differently…

Different…I mean, it’s very hard to ignore 0.03c/km [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] - that’s a big chunk of money and it’s also very nice to LOL at the free carbon tax $$ that gets deposited in my account every quarter.

You realize you're not exempt from paying carbon tax, right? 

If you heat your house and hot water with Natural Gas, you pay carbon tax.
If you buy food that has been transported by truck, you pay carbon tax (it's built into the price of food, and HINT, it's ALL food)
If you purchase any goods at all that have been transported by truck, you pay carbon tax (HINT, it's ALL products)

There are soooo many ways that YOU pay carbon tax that are completely unrelated to you driving an EV. 

Also, you CAN"T include carbon tax rebates in your break-even calculations on your purchase of your Lightning, AS WE ALL GET THE SAME REBATES BACK.  You would be getting the rebates back if you had an ICE vehicle, so it cancels out.

ALSO, it's NOT $0.03/km.  I proved that yesterday when I called :censor: on your energy calculations.

Like, you do EVERYTHING possible to show everything in the most favorable light possible to yourself and your decisions.  You are the poster child for choice-supportive bias.

Here, since you are so hurt about $ 0.032c because I used 0.09c, I will go with you 0.11c…

So 2,643kwh X 0.11 = $290.73…so instead of $0.032 it is $0.038 - damn eh, such a huge difference.

And sorry I’m on geothermal, so don’t pay carbon tax on that sweet natural gas.

You've shared pictures of your neighbourhood.  Aren't you in, like Sage Creek or something?  Bog-standard newer residential suburb with normal 35' lots.  Unless you've moved out to a big lot in the country, you're not on Geothermal, dude.

…many houses around here are on geothermal - was a partnership between the province and hydro to build new homes with efficient heating.

Cheapest XLT with the 2.7 is $1,008 per month on a 48 month, 20,000km a year lease (taxes included).  The Lightning XLT is $1,487.  That's not a big difference for what you're getting.  Different use cases, but the Lightning could have a cheaper cost of ownership for a family that does a ton of local driving and can charge at home every night. 

Lot's of "Ford families" in these parts, combine a Lightning with an ICE Explorer as vehicle #2 and you'd be well covered.

" How the truck is used
These are key highlights of Ford truck buyers, based on survey data and follow-up phone calls:
Lightning owners say they are using the pickup bed more frequently than the ICE owner.
74% of the Lightning owners are using their vehicle once a month for home projects — moving things such as mulch, dirt and flooring and drywall — once a month whereas 51% of the ICE owners say they're using the truck that frequently for such projects.
27% of the Lightning buyers are using the truck bed for home project hauling once a week versus 14% for F-150 buyers.
48% of Lightning owners go camping once a month, hauling bikes, tents, kayaks and cooking stoves. About 40% of the F-150 (ICE) owners camp as frequently. Both vehicles are available with Pro Power outlets in the bed that can supply electricity.
More than half the Lightning buyers are coming from a non-pickup, compared with roughly 33% for F-150.

More than 60% of the Lightning buyers are Millennials or GenX — under 50.
