Known as the Auris in Europe, and built on a shorter wheelbase than the sedan.

As a result, it is really a squeeze for adults in the back, and even the doors don't help as they don't open up much - good luck fitting a child seat.

Edit: pic below shows max door opening.

Anti-theft device puts some life into this car, but you have to insist

There are Ontario plates on that car - did you review it in Ontario?

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Trunk is pretty small for a hatchback, a stroller may not even fit, and units like this one - with no spare tire - have an uneven floor that can't be raised. Base models have a spare, and a flat floor.

No, in QC. Many - if not most - manufacturers plate their cars in Ontario and shuffle them around. Sometimes they remove the front plates as they are not required here. This Corolla was actually driven here from Toronto by staff from their fleet management contractor the week before I got it.

That whole black roof thing needs to stop.  Fack that makes it look ugly.  It's like Chicago style vinyl without being vinyl...blech!  :-X :hurl:

It's probably worse than all the iPads stuck on dash boards, or black wheels.   :P ::) (;D)

As I mentioned in the review, the two-tone on the C pillar has no character line or gap to butt up to, so it creates a big uneven paint ridge right there, just like the masking tape line that it is. I'd avoid that option!

But I can't read French so I never read your reviews.  Pictures only for me.

Here you can really see the paint ridge:

Understood, hence my "five pic reviews" I now do here in the forum, but I just wanted to mention that I did touch on that in the review.

Does the Quebec government prevent you from posting a bilingual version of your review on the Quebec version of Trader?

 :rofl2:

Trader keeps the two sites separate and apart from a few news items or features, they prefer two original pieces over one with translation - I highly respect that view. As authors we're more in touch with our local markets.

That being said, I don't know of any bilingual webzine.

Crunchy porridge

Is that a positive or bad translation?

While I see a lot of these around, I wish Toyota also gave us the wagon version as the hatch is much too small for us.

"Bouille craquante" basically translates to "It's so cuuuuute"

And yes, this is MUCH closer to the old Yaris hatchback than it is to, say, a 5-door Civic. Essentially, a more refined Yaris for singles or couples. The sedan is much more practical.

Thanks for the proper translation, that makes more sense. Would be curious to see the breakdown for hatches vs sedans sold. Same again next year after the Cross has been on the market for a while which is closer to the hatch in length than the sedan.
