I'm partly surprised, but more so not surprised, to see the sales results for this utterly brilliant car. Happened to be looking at some industry registration data last week, and Mercedes-Benz Canada has registered 377 of these beauties since 2019. Pretty respectable, I think, but indicative of most consumers' demand for wagons... it should be way more popular.

The wife wouldn't even consider this wagon when we were looking at the GX. I told her that they handle better, are more comfortable, have a ton of room....nothing, might as well been trying to sell her on the Griswolds wagon. I was trying to usher her towards this, the e wagon, or the A6...NOTHING. SUV or die. sigh  :'( :'(
Lighten up Francis.....

My wife would be the same...whereas, given the option, I'd rather have the wagon.

Though the GV70 aint bad to look at either.

Hmmm...would I??  ???

And in comparison, how many of those godawful bulbous SUV / "Coupe" things did they sell?
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

No...just, no. Not only is it a terrible excuse for an suv, but they call it a "coupe" and its ugly as a land mine wound.

But you'll see 50 of those for every C43 Wagon.  Humanity is clearly beyond redemption as a species.  :hurl:

I am in agreement with this line of thinking.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Everybody should be thanking all those people that bought those ugly SUVs because they are what keep things like the C43, E53, E63 wagons in Canada. No different than the Macan and Cayanne keeping those lovely GT3 cars going.

That's actually a pretty good number. I wonder if anyone bought one in my weirdo preferred spec... bright blue with red leather, and night/premium/tech packages.

By that reasoning, we should thank all the people who bought automatic transmissions, because they kept the manual transmissions going.... oh.... wait..... ;D  When market demand for a product drops below a critical mass, that product disappears.  This is known.

I think its not an unreasonable assumption by Oliver. From a product planning perspective, its easier for some product manager to sneak in an enthusiast model if the firm is making a s^&t load of $$$ on other models. Executives won't necessarily focus on these niche asks. Now if the firm is not making a ton of money, the cover is gone, and executive eyes suddenly focus on underperforming, slow selling models. And the sports wagon gets cut.

For Porsche its slightly different as the sports car segment is their DNA, which you would think has to be sustained even at higher costs.
I love it when a plan comes together.
