Can I fit any hubcap from any car brand if the bolt pattern and rim size is the same?

I don't think bolt pattern is a concern.  It's whether the wheel and hubcap are the same size.  Good chance any 16" cap will fit any 16" (steel) wheel.

I'm old - this is a hubcap.


If you've got holes...then yes, it would matter.

Not all hubcaps clip in the same way. Our old Civic had one aftermarket wheel that would not hold the Honda hubcaps. I ended up zip tying it on not that I would recommend that.

wheel covers can be a couple different kinds. snap on or bolt on. if they are snap on (a metal ring on the inside snaps into place under the lip of the steel rim) pretty much any one will fit with the right size barring an off bolt style or very shallow wheel. the bolt on, you just need to make sure they are for the right bolt pattern.

Hi and thank you for the interesting answers.

My car is 2006 Civic LX, I believe the bolt pattern is 5 X 114.3  rims are 16" steelies all black.

I understand that if I do buy the bolt on ,  I need to also buy special lug nuts. Which is another additional cost. So the snap on are less expensive.

for the bolt on wheel covers, do I need all the lugs with the special washer to hold on the cover or can i get away with one lug per wheel?
