Directional mount - Turanzas
« on: October 01, 2019, 08:16:08 pm »
Had a set of Bridgestone Turanzas installed today. They felt good on the way home, but I noticed when I got here that the tread patterns go in the opposite directions from the driver to the passenger side. The tread shape is sort of a v pattern, pointing towards to front of the vehicle on the driver side, and pointing backwards on the passenger side? This doesn't seem right to me, but there is a marking "outside" on all the tires, which is correct on both sides. I'll call the shop tomorrow, but any knowledge of this out there while I'm waiting?

Yeah, that’s normal. I haven’t had the Turanzas, but have had other asymmetric tires that gave the same visual effect.

As long as the side marked “outside” is facing out, you’re good.

Most tires have an angularity to them so when only looking at the outer edge, the 2 sides of the car look different.

Look at the WHOLE tread and you'll see there isn't any directionality.
