my point is, they've already spent the money...why not simply make it "standard" and spread those costs out over tens of thousands of units.

if it's hand built, it's because it's a one off...if the car was that way from the beginning, it would simply be built that way from the beginning, negating any "extra costs".

The 80 they're building are hand built. They're distinct from the production line.
i know...my point is, if these hand built ones, were simply how they all would be, they'd all be "factory build", keeping the costs down and making the vehicle itself special, instead of just 80 of them special.
