It's a 300hp, AWD sedan with a nice interior.  What's not to like?  Being a Chrysler, I bet these have also depreciated a whole bunch.  There is nothing inherently wrong with the Pentastar V6, and the 9-speed transmission, while clunky, seems to have a decent reliability record.

I would venture a guess that one of these would be smart-ish buy if you're looking to drive something a little out of the ordinary for a few years before dumping it for something different.

yea, i think they look pretty good...factoring in lower resale values, you can likely get a pretty good deal...it's still a decent car and well equipped, likely for a similar price to a lower trim Civic or Corolla.
When you've lost the argument, admit defeat and hit the smite button.

And while it would likely cost more to run than a Civic or Corolla, it is a whole lot MORE car than either of those examples.

for sure...and honestly, assuming you get a good used car (not something someone beat on and never maintained), it's still a good car...just stay on top of your maintenance (like you should anyway) and you'll get plenty of use out of it...as you mentioned, these things likely have an uplevel feel vs a Corolla or Civic from that same era and will likely feel more substantial to drive...with a V6 and AWD, yes, they'll use more gas than the Civic or Corolla, and while it's likely the Honda and Toyota are more reliable, it's not like these were junk...no reason to look away from these if it offers what you want in a car, they were pretty good overall...factor in the value on the used market, and it's a smart choice...perhaps try to find a cherry one of a Chrysler lot, versus some shady used car dealer for maximum peace of mind/qualtiy.

:iagree: a well shopped one of these would be a great car and more enjoyable than a Civic or Corolla... cheaper to insure than a Civic... and cheap to maintain as well... a set of brakes for this aren't gonna set you back huge dollars and it's a pretty capable car.

yep for those searching for a nice pleasant car, and not much more than that in terms of specifics, a well shopped one of these would be a great contender
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.
