I love the changes Acura has made but man she's a hungry bugger, isn't she?  13.1L without start / stop traffic and premium at that.

I found the dead Pedal so large and uncomfortable  I would not even take it for a test drive

It does look better than the Pathfinder, which doesn't say much for the the latter.

I think the review is spot on.  A fine automobile, but lacking any distinctive character other than the massive, gawkish front end :hurl:  I preferred the beak.

I don't get how this thing is so much worse a performer than the Pilot, which manages a 6.0s 0-60 time and fantastic road hold from my experience behind the latter's wheel.

Your point is likely correct re base model over Elite, but at least the package is only $10k - hell, you can option a Ford Escape nearly $20,000 more expensive than its base ::)

I think it looks too much like a gussied up CRV.  Love or hate the looks of the RX, it doesn't look anything like any of it's Toyota relatives.

Otherwise, the MDX is a super-solid choice.

Sister in law was visiting with her 2014 RDX , amazing how much the 2013 RX / 2014 RDX look the same

As an owner I agree with the general tone of the review.

The stereo is pretty damn good I find though. As almost all Acura stereos are. Confused on that one.

Objectively I am not convinced that this car is actually better than the Pilot. Now I understand that they can't price it too close to the Pilot, but to compensate they have to make the MDX a lot better than it is right now.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.

I'd agree with the general conclusions of the review. The times I test drove a MDX I came away thinking " very nice, but nothing that really grabs you"

Meh, it looks okay, nothing great... kinda wish they'd stick with a theme for their front end & run with it. I might hate the Lexus front end styling, but at least they're running with it across all models  :rofl2:

When we were looking prior to buying our MDX, we compared the MDX with the Pilot.  We felt the Pilot was nice, but the MDX definitely felt special over the Pilot.  Pilot's tech was better though.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Do you remember the price difference ? Did it justify that little something special ?

I was comparing 1 to 2 year old MDXs vs a new Pilot.  The Pilot we tested was an EX-L I believe.  I paid less for our two year old MDX Tech with 14k kms than what the Pilot was listed for.  We're very happy with our decision.  The MDX isn't perfect, but in our case it is a lot of bang for the buck.
