Has anyone ever done the pre-paid maintenance packages? I won't go into all the details but they make it look there is potential to save $2,995,66 over 7 years.  Looks like the upfront cost is $3103 though.

  on the purchase.  But big NO on the $3K maintenance.

Good looking rig.

If there is one thing I learned from this don't automatically dismiss a vehicle you want because the sticker price is double what you'd normally spend.  Never in my life would thought I could afford a vehicle that had an MSRP this expensive. Combine discounts with some financial changes in my life and I got it to a price that was manageable.

Something else I could use advice on is Krown on aluminium bodies. Given that the frame is still steel Krown would certainly be worth while. I called my local Krown dealer and they said extensive research has been done by head office and they treat them the exact same way as any other vehicle as aluminum still breaks down.

I've always said Krown can put more holes in my car anytime they want, however I've never done it to aluminum.  Curious if an one has any opinions on this?

not sure, but aluminum can still oxidize when exposed to salt and water (which is usually on our roads in the winter, depending on where you are)...in short, i doubt it would hurt anything, and will still likely help...as you said, there's plenty of non-aluminum parts it would help, but i'd say it would still help the aluminum as well.

I'm in the "no" crowd on the maintenance thing.  Almost 5 yrs in, less than $600 so far...granted I've only got 63,000 km on mine. Just oil changes and air filters.  Will they replace the shocks and brakes etc. if at say 99,990 km they don't really need it?  And 11 km later...sucks to be you!

My dad bought something similar on his Edge, which they said was refundable if not used in 5 yrs.  Maybe that was the extended warranty.  Another waste of money since they'll probably not hit the high end of the kms anyway.

Nice buy though.

Nice truck! I WANT a truck myself but I just can't justify the cost or the space needed.
Then again, it would be on my list if I were to replace the MDX down the road.

I wouldn't get the maintenance package unless you can bring the cost down to $2K or so.
