I have to admit that while I love driving the Miata all summer (which is 100x more uncomfortable than an STi) I do enjoy the soft ride and cushy interior of the Highlander all winter.

The STI is a blast to drive.  For a couple of hours and then the hard suspension, creaks and groans from the doors and dash, the hair trigger clutch and notchy shifter, and marginal fit and finish becomes too much for a car this expensive.  As a daily driver, it simply sucks.

Having said that, its steering is superb.

Love daily driving my STI  ;)

Fair enough.  I had a 2015 so I am fairly familiar with the car.  Again, it is a blast to drive but as a DD it falls far short of my current ride.  With the R I can cruise in almost silence in comfort mode or got STI in Race mode without any apparent penalty.  Might be an age thing too..lol

I've heard that they made some suspension tweaks for 2016 that made the ride more compliant so that could be it.  ???  Like I said before, I've never had complaints about the ride and that includes my parents and in-laws who are in their mid 60s to early 70s.  Btw, I'm 39.

I share this point of view.  I loved mine early on.  But driving it to work every day got old quick.  I lasted 3 months and transferred the lease to someone.  Luckily they are in such demand that I didn't have to give any incentive to have the lease taken over.
