A good review, but I struggle to see the point of the Countryman in general. I mean, the standard Mini is fairly well-sized; if you must go bigger, there is a 5-door. The Countryman means its no longer as easy to shoehorn into a small parking space, and starting at 32 k$ plus taxes means it's rather more expensive than a 5-door......

Always fun to read your reviews though, Jacob.

BMW completely misses the intention of the Mini brand.  When I found out Mini was coming back, I was actually a little excited.  Then I found out they're expensive purse-dog cars.  Meh.

Isn't this the only Mini with AWD?  And isn't the compact CUV market essentially the hottest one for sales?

My qualms are the gauging pricing strategy for options and the detuned engine. While clearly very fuel efficient if fricken Jacob is able to get below 10L/100km (hell, he did worse in the Crosstrek hybrid), and 7.2s is properly quick, it just seems odd that the same engine in a BMW is up 50ish hp.

The magic number here should be 220hp.  189 just seems cruel.

The Clubman is also available with AWD.
