All of your pictures are of the new C63, which doesn't have much in common with the generation you're reviewing here.

Same thing I was thinking.

Nice car if a person could afford it new. I wouldn't touch a used one with a barge pole.

Friend had a 2014 or 2015, traded it in on a GT-R. NIce car, the exhaust with the cat delete and aftermarket mufflers was absolutely amazing.....BUT....the infotainment system apparently was useless and he had a lot of niggles with electronics that involved dealer visits. GT-R, not one issue thus far. Yeah, CPO and sell with one week left on warranty, yeah, out of warranty, nein danke!!!
Lighten up Francis.....

I love how classy and understated the C63 is, unlike its M3 competitor. I mean, it looks like a peasant C250 from a distance, until you hear that exhaust note!!!

Purely anecdotal, but based on my personal experience and those of my MB owning friends, the AMG models actually seem more reliable than other models.  Of course, some parts are VERY expensive!

A good friend of mine had an early C63 (back when you could buy a new one for $60K flat, what a deal!) and it was a really robust car.  Some minor issues, but overall a great car.  They had a "lifestyle change" and replaced it with a new ND Miata. (just took delivery the other day, I'm so jelly!)

A C-Class with monster power to me is still one of the most desirable MBs, period.  Debadged, of course...

I think the M3 sedan has aged pretty well, and also looks quite understated. I think between the two, I'd take the M3, but it is very hard to find a decent sedan since so few were made relative to the coupe.

I'd be perfectly happy with a CPO 335i, but I can't even afford that.  :P

What Owners Dislike: Common complaints typically centre around a rough ride, heavy fuel consumption -- duh duh doy

::) You gotta wonder....big ass, 500hp 6.2 V8, no profile tires and an AMG badge, where did they get the inkling that it was going to be a fuel sipping road cloud??

After leasing the C63 for a few years, we bought ours out because we had very low kms and the residual wasn't that high. We even gambled on not getting the extended warranty for a few reasons.  One - the headbolt issue affects mostly early 2011's and earlier vehicles. Our car was a 2011 but with some research was outside of the range.  Two, we had also had a C350 earlier (same generation) and reliability wasn't bad...mostly light bulbs burning out and nothing major as far as repairs.   As far as maintenance, costs can be high especially if you go to the dealers but if you shop around , prices for consumables (tires, oil, brakes, etc aren't that bad).  Regarding the article, the Speedshift MCT transmission didn't come until the 2012 cars (with the interior revision).  Before that, it was the regular 7gTronic with rev matching.  Extremely fun car to drive though - we'll see how it lasts over the years.
