The base engine in the Fusion is the 1.5 L Ecoboost (181hp/185ft-lbs).

The 170hp/184ft-lbs in the Passat is right in there. Running it on 93 octane apparently bumps output to 191hp and 203ft-lbs based on APR's testing.

Do you notice a jump in hp/torque when using 93 octane?
That is a big jump, most cars that use regular instead of premium lose only 5-10 HP and similar torque numbers which can't be felt.

However, Mustang 2.3 L turbo has a big downgrade in HP when burning 87.
Read on torquenews it's 270 HP, 40HP is significant.  Not sure why it won't allow me to post the link.

I think a person needs 10 forum posts or so before they can post links.

I don't think 93 is available in the Big Flat. I've tried a tank of 91, but didn't notice a difference. Then again, I'm not terribly sensitive to these things.  ;D
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Naturally aspirated cars can't take as much advantage of higher octane and hence why it's not much of a difference on most cars.

You should have 94 available at Husky/Mohawk and Petro Canada.

Good to know. I may give it a try before the camshaft shears its lobes, or it burns to the ground, or otherwise self destructs.  ;D

That is quite the nonsensical segue

VW Canada's financing and residuals are in chaos.  Perfectly connected to Diesel Gate.

Paris to ban Diesels by 2020.

It's only nonsensical to a VW owner.  :)
Heh, VW is not the only one doing diesel. So your comment is complettely out of place. VW hater?

Not in the least.  VW USA/Canada has hitched their wagons to "Diesel".  Being the go to company for reasonably priced diesel passenger vehicles.  Were well respected.  Now they are DIRT.  The US Government is going to ground them to pieces.  They have the Golf and other than that one they have ZIP in their line up.  They're volume is too small.  Their dealer network will dissolve before they can fix this.

I can see them disappearing somewhat from Canada / US.  But I can't see the whole organization going under.  The German government won't let it happen with how many people they employee in Germany alone.

I've only been referring to USA and by default Canada.  2% market share and declining before the troubles.  I think VW will be unable to "fix" the problems.

If I was a VW owner with an affected vehicle in Ontario I'd be going for the 2 year plate renewal option.
