So they become effective as we approach the point where every infraction results in a ticket. That's depressing.

Meh, the people I see here weaving in and out of traffic at speed are:

1) kids in beat up sunbirds and the like
2) small men in jacked up pickups
3) soccer moms in big SUV's
4) BMW drivers

Not seeing a lot of skill or need, just a sense of entitlement. Can't say I'd shed a huge tear.

Driving 111 in the 100 zone isn't the dangerous behaviour you're describing.  It's the following too close, unsafe lane changes, etc, etc.  Speed cameras capture none of that.

In other words, 90% of vehicles on the road.  :)
