I totally get what you're saying, and agree with it, but what I was referring more to is the length of the damn name.  I hate the new Infiniti naming convention, but I still think that Q50S is much simpler than 333i xDrive or X5 xDrive35i.  To each their own.  Lincoln still take the prize for the worst model names IMO.

Hm yes BMW's endless xDrive sDrive blah blah BS is really annoying.

Audi does a pretty good job. Mercedes was doing well until the recent baloney with the ML--> GLE and GLK --> GLC fiasco. I think the old ML and GLK names were sufficiently well understood, especially the ML.

Wasn't that thing a huge deal when it came out late 90s?

Audi does a good job, can't think of too many issues there. A (regular) S (fast) RS (bonkers) Q (SUV), 3,4,5,6,7,8 denoting rough size and pecking order. TT sits alone.  Its fitting that Audi is the most modular car from a marketing perspective.

Hi one Audi please

Of course sir. What shape and how big?

Excellent, there you are sir. Please pay the cashier.

Not to mention that Audi's sedan design language is basically just small, medium and large versions of the same design.

What are Infiniti's sales figures like these days? They seem to be floundering around with no clear strategy for whom they're targeting.

Actually that is pretty much exactly what I was mentioning.
