I find that cheap cars always do well in automobile centric area like the US and Alberta. Completely anecdotal but my impression is that Albertans buy half of the Canadian Mirages. I've seen more Mirages with Alberta plates than BC plates -- in BC.

The Americans have gobbled up Hyundais and Kias by the boatload 10-15 years ago when they were cheap.

I feel like the Mirage does well in Quebec, too. They like inexpensive cars there.
I used to work here.

Micra, yes.  Corolla, Civic, etc, yes.  Mirage?  No.  You won't want one new or used.  Well, for SUPER cheap, maybe.

Corolla and Civic are expensive used cars, but they also retain their value well as you use them and they tend to have very low operating costs.

What plates are the Albertan Mirages on? If they are a letter, followed by a dash and some numbers, then its a rental car.

as i showed in the original Mirage thread, in most cases, it wasn't any cheaper...the ONLY way the Mirage was cheaper, was if you paid $10k cash for the stripper model (which was likely hard to find)...considering most people would not get the absolute stripper base trim, and most people would finance the car, the Mirage came out more expensive than most of its peers...search for the original thread, i posted all the different pricing and payment details for many different cars.

No, we hardly see any around Montreal. Micra vs Mirage sightings : 30 to 1. Subcompacts just aren't doing all that well, with the competitive pricing of compacts. Price a Sentra S at par with a Micra or Note, and people leave in the Sentra. That doesn't work at Mitsu stores...people just don't go there, unless SUV.
