I see there's a build & price now - GS for me.
The lack of colour choices is a disappointment - would likely go white as well, but not familiar with the 'ceramic metallic' - is that grey? blue?

I'd say it looks like grey. There is a blue though called "blue reflex mica". Just another shade of grey to me.
Since the NC miata there has not been a lot of colour choice. My 06 was black, never again. The 90 that I have now is smurf blue.
Atleast it's not a colour you will see everyday.

Yeah, the black finish on my '06 was miserable too.

For what it's worth, the Soul Red Metallic looks incredible on this car.  The way it catches the sunlight really shows off the car's lines.  Photos don't do it justice...

Too bad that Soul Red Metallic is not available in the base GX trim.  After taxes, base vehicle is still over $35K.  The value proposition isn't as good as I had initially thought but still, what a car!

Yes the price is up from when I purchased my GS in 06. I believe it was just over $30,000. Now the same mid level GS is approaching $35,000 before taxes.
Granted it's been 9 years. No more new miata's for me. Will probably pick one up in a few years when they depreciate a bit.

Right.  I purchased a 3-year old '08 NC with 14K kms for around $20K + taxes.  So used is certainly one way to go.

Or you can wait until the next generation comes out in 8 years and there is a bit of cash on the hood for the NDs.  But at $35K all-in, the base model is a bit too rich for my taste.

Here is a good comparison test of the new MX5 and the BRZ . It is fairly long but insightful.
