Maybe I'm crazy.  I've been driving 2010 Q7 for the past two weeks and I prefer my MDX.  I'd get the 2013 model when my current one dies.

My impressions:
SH-AWD feels much better than Quattro when accelerating at on-ramps
Q7's hood is too long
Brake feel is uneven in the Q7
The 4.7L V8 in the Q7 pulls really well, but seriously thirsty

It's not surprising to see SO many of these new MDXs on the road.  I still prefer the older models, though.

Considered the Geman competition last year when shopping and ended up getting the MDX.  Price was better.  Styling is so-so but it's comfortable, reliable and decent on fuel (13L/100km city) considering it is a heavy vehicle.  290 hp may seem low but it's got some decent pull and handling.  According to Car&Driver, it scoots from 0-96km/h in 6.4secs and does 0.85g on a 300ft diameter circle.

And, the latest test on the 2016 with a nine speed automatic transmission has the 0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds.

Shame about the outward visibility - the RX suffers from the same peril, as it does with a giant turning radius.  While it's not 'ok' to me, it is the norm, unfortunately.

I haven't looked at the new RX - but a while back the missus much preferred the RX to the MDX as it felt easier to see out of.

Have you driven an FJ Cruiser?  "Lane change by feel!"

Yeah SHAWD lets you just mash the gas to pull more Gs. Its great.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

I always wonder how it is that Acura got this car so, so right (pretty much every generation) while they completely flopped with the 4th gen TL and 2nd gen TSX, and every RL/RLX ever.

Maybe it just works better with the Legionnarie's Shield grille + families got fed up with dealer trips for their FGCs. Just that simple?

Bossman has security cameras outside his house, which caught his neighbour's 2015 MDX being stolen.  Police were in the office yesterday to get all the footage from him on a USB thumb drive.  Apparently it is the 7th MDX stolen in Etobicoke this week.  It's one of those fob thefts where they can literally unlock the car and drive it away.  No push-button start for me, thanks.

I don't understand how.  Are they reading the signal?

Because you can't open the door without the fob for 1 and the fob must be inside the car to start it.

So they may be programming fobs.  But meh, insurance will give me a new vehicle

Exactly. The only worry I have about my car being stolen is that I might get it back. I would give the bad guys a head start before calling the cops...who wouldn't come anyhow.

I have an awful habit of leaving valuables in my car.  In particular, my Nexus card, sunglasses, and often times, wallet.

Insurance will just hike rates for certain models of vehicles tho.

Electronic security is pretty fascinating tho. This wouldn't worry me - if it really became that big of an issue the technology will just improve, recalls would be issued, etc.

Honestly the same things were said about online shopping and online banking.

Well, don't. :)

Or a facking garage!
Oh, it's always in the garage when home, and even at work in an underground -but that's shared, as is anywhere else that I park it outside.

I am considering a man-purse, seriously.

I complained about pricing here, but I was shocked to find out that the 16 Ford Explorer in its limited and platinum versions cost as much as a similarly equipped MDX. I know exactly what I'd buy!
