Test drove this car and really enjoyed it. The lack of new tech and fuel efficiency were the nails in the coffin. Achieved 8.6 L/100 KM with my 335i at a steady 135 kph! Very pleasantly surprised.

In straight hwy driving around 120km/h I could get high 7's L / 100 km in my old 335i.  I can't do that now in the WRX with half as many turbo's and 2/3 the displacement.  :)
Hell, the Corolla on the I-90 to Ithaca used 6.8L/100km (albeit in the rain/heavy winds) at 120km/h.

I looked at the Fozzie after not seeing it for 2 weeks (I reset the trip computer every time I come).  She drove 61km in 2 weeks and averaged 16.2L/100km.  Of premium.

I need to get her a Prius...c.

I achieved 6.8 the other day on a 300 km spin with my Passat TSI, a lot bigger and more powerful than a Corolla.  The average over 16,000 km is 7.7.

"Now about that avant"..... Ok stab stab stab. And the manual is going to be killed too.  Bloody hell, I always thought the Avant was the quintessential AUDI along with the QUATTRO. Anybody remember the QUATTRO???  Can't any of these companies dance to a different drummer?  I mean even subaru killed the car that defined who they were.  The WRX five door hatch.

I dunno if the hatch defined the WRX. Early WRXs were coupes and sedans, and the first gen WRX hatch available in NA didn't have the awesome flared fenders of the sedan.
