These use to really suck fuel but for 2010 Kia Sorento was introduced in late 2009 as a 2010 model. No longer based on a truck frame, the 2010 Sorento was of unibody construction.

Safe vehicle as it's on the least of vehicles with no accident fatality rates in it's 2WD format.

Looked into a used one briefly but not there for me yet. New versions look much better and seem well put together although the price of these now brings a lot of competitors into play.

with SXEX and EXSX representing mid-grade and top-line units, respectively.
other way around - SX was top trim.

...and good for Kia - that sounds like a pretty diminutive list of issues.  We should let Dent know ;D

My folks have a 4 cylinder FWD Sorrento from this generation and they've been happy with it. It rarely snows around here and they just drive in the city so the AWD and V6 weren't in the cards.  Reliability wise, I don't think they've had many issues and it's only been in for routine maintenance.

Having driven it several times, it's very roomy, has a comfortable ride, and power is ok though you have to keep it in the high rev range to get it moving and for passing.   Features are quite good for the given price and fuel economy is in the 12 to 13's (city driven only).
