Yeah but it seems M, RS, AMG offer more performance.  This is more in line with AMG sport, Msport, S.

Everyday.  At least as it relates to torque.

You figure the guy driving the torque-rich EV would know this.   ;D

This is Volvo's first offering of the Polestar line, doesn't have that PEAK AND HARDCORE power output of the well 'history' German cars. But Volvo already have an R-line of vehicles, and the Polestar doesn't necessary go directly to compete with the likes of the M/AMG/RS, IMO. A Polestar wagon can be used as regular family car 95%, and able to do track duties when called upon.

Personally, as a father with two kids, I will go for a Polestar wagon than a M3 sedan, even thought the M3 can go 0.5 seconds quicker in 0-100 and the 1/4 mile.

Umm, you're the one who said it was a marketing gimmick like M/AMG/RS.  I was merely pointing out that it definitely isn't to that level, and more akin to Msport, AMG sport, S.

I doubt they are going to be that good on the road course compared to a M3 (not to mention the price point difference) or even a M335i. I know of a local that had a V70R and he ended up selling it for a 1M because the V70R just wasn't all that on the track.  Wasn't bad, but not all that.

I think for road course duties, I'll keep a dedicated sports car.  For family/DD duties and as a father of twins, I'll keep the minivan.

I think the regular R and Polestar vehicles are of complete different animals. Have driven the R wagons, they are not exactly track cars. Not everyone actually have the space for multiple vehicles, for those of us that do, it is a very good blessing.  :drive: :drive:
