You would be surprised how little some STi drivers know. I have driven both and IMO the Quattro AWD system on my TT-RS is just as capable as the Subaru STi.

At $49,800, the CLA 45 AMG is a little more compelling to me...what's another $6K?

you know... honestly, Subaru could just be pulling our legs..  they say no hatchback, but they could just be saying that so people would buy the sedan and not wait for hatch to come out..  then next year, a STI hatch!!! (along with wrx hatch.)


if i had 45k to spend though, i would go S3.....

And I'd spend $8,000 on a super clean 2.5RS Impreza and spend the rest of the decade drunker than an Irish beer taster.

The EPA announced fuel consumption figures for the A3 Quattro. 

27 MPG combined on Premium fuel:  http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=34710

OUCH!  Scratch that one off my list.

I'm thinking that proves Audi's claim of 6.9L / 100KM for the S3 to be waaaaay out to lunch.

It's $6,000!

I was hugely disappointed by both of these at the auto show.  $44k is a good price, but I wonder how far that'll stretch with options.

Either way, I wouldn't buy it.  Shame since it's the exact size I want, exact performance, and the price is decent - but that interior just doesn't resonate with me.
