Side and rear profile.....beautiful car....that nose..yeesshh. Again, why is it such an automotive faux pas to actually brand a model with its correct displacement....I know C200 isnt as impressive as a C300, but isnt that damn near false advertising?? If Im buying a pound of ground beef and its only actually a 1/2 or 3/4 of a pound, I know Id be peeved off.

How is it false advertising? The Germans have never been consistent about this.

Benz used to be pretty consistant back in the 80's/90's AFAIR....BMW too

Yeah a 325 had a 2.5, a 540 had a 4L....what was wrong with that??

Yep, 300E had a 3.0, when they offered a 'cheap" version with a 2.8 it was badged a 300E 2.8.... when they bumped the displacement to 3.2 it became the E320
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Yep.  This whole nomenclature thing with Germans is shot.

Maybe they are trying to go based on net effective displacement because it is force induced and not naturally aspirated?

I guess car-model-naming-determined-by-engine-displacement (or some other elegant logic) is now dead. We can look it up one day on Wikipedia to remind us of what it meant.

Except when the 325 had a 2.7 and the 540i had a 4.4. :P

Because calling a 2 liter a 3 liter isnt what you would actually call correct right?? I know its a marketing exercise to make the people buying the base models feel better but I dont get it.

Who's saying it's a three litre?

That's when the system started going to ratshit.

i'm sure they won't do it willingly.  ;)

but forced into it because of strong competition and desire to gain back the marketshare lost to BMW and Audi.

MB  2013 USA and Canada market share took top place over both BMW & Audi.
