Back on topic…..auto cigarette lighters are great for road trips. It is just too inconvenient some times to fire up the propane torch and heat up the knives.

I think I have the Dirtiest ashtray in the country as I only use it to get rid of the Butts. To me to throw stuff out the window is a very Bad habit for anyone to have. I know some owners who smoke but use a tin can instead of the ashtray. Trying to keep it new looking. I am involved with the Thames River clean-up here in London and see enough garbage thrown away to remember full time.

Nothing.  There is a compartment above the ashtray / lighter compartment that I use for coins.

LOL. Is it too soon to turn this into a dog thread again?

Do cars even have ashtrays anymore? There's a little covered compartment in front of the shift lever on the GTI, but it would make a terrible ashtray. All I put in there is the garage door remote and a shopping-cart token for Safeway.

I think you can buy an accessory ashtray for the Yukon (maybe the GTI too?). It fits into the centre console next to the cup holders, but we're not smokers so have never looked into it.

My 2011 ML has an ashtray and a lighter. (glides out of the lower part of the console when you push on a section of the wood trim)  The BMW (same year) does not.

Berlin taxi has a sissy little ashtray and lighter under a slick smooth sliding cover. Couldn't accommodate a proper cigar…maybe a vaping thingy though.

Yeah, the ashtray in the ML in a tiny little thing as well. Doesn't look like it would hold more than a few butts.........maybe it's where you're supposed to keep your coke?   but then....why the lighter?  Oh wait, you have to light crack don't you?.........  but then that would be more appropriate in an Escalade. ;D

    I'm confused

Awesome...another zombie thread... :)  I actually had to check...no ashtray in either vehicle...car has 2 coin trays and truck has blank template where astray option probably goes...

The Rav4 doesn't have an ashtray but has an optional plastic cup that fits in a cup holder for about $30.

I bought one at the dollar store for a dollar. But I didn't smoke in the car or the house anyway so it was for emergencies like hours long traffic jam. I could hang out the window but needed a place to put the butt.

Now I do vape in the car and house but since there are no ashes and it isn't on fire - I just put in anywhere. Usually a cup holder or my pocket.

Just a covered compartment in front of the shifter in the Mazda.  All that goes in it is my key for the mailbox.

Maybe manufacturers figured people just throw their butts out the window.
