Everyone is starting with expensive cars. Why not start with a $5K car and add $15K of engineering?

Why don't you suggest something then, boss?

Well, yeah, that Volvo is awesome.  But it's a beater.  If you're okay with a beater, then the possibilities are nearly endless...

Makes me realize how insanely cheap crazy fast is in the motorcycle world.

Hard?  It's an I6.  They fit in damn near anything if you have the length.  A V8 is more challenging because of the width IMO.

Hard to run?  WTF are you talking about?  You can tune it with a $250 tuner...or a $2500 standalone.  The Supra was the easiest car I've ever tuned.  I think this is the craziest of your 3 statements.

And they're not that expensive.  Certainly cheaper than ANY GM V8 with internals able to support 1000HP.  Heck..you can still buy a block brand spanking new from Toyota for a mere $2500!!

Yup.  I built a hyper-space capable bike for ~@$12K.  The kicker now isn't the cost of the bike, but finding insurance.  Canada has become a very unfriendly place for sport machines, particularly modded ones. I ended up selling the bike to an American as he had no trouble insurance/plating it.

The new ZX-14 runs 8s with the simplest of mods.  Almost no reason to mod!!
