So we're all back home after a day at the CIAS. Ladyleadfoot and BamBam had a great time, except for the pre-nap meltdown at the Volvo booth, perhaps BamBam was sensing my lament of lack of manual tranmissions with my favourite V-brand and wanted to make a scene.
There were a few standouts. Kia has some great colour choices along with sibling Hyundai, I spent much time gawking at the Veloster Turbo and the facelifted/reengined Genesis coupe. BR-Z/FR-S are far better looking in person, I might have to eat my disparaging comments about a lack of sunroof if it drives half as good as it looks. The Q5 caught Ladyleadfoot's attention, as did the LF-A until I told her how much it was.
Failing grades go to Acura for pulling the NSX concept after the weekend, apparently it has another show date; VW and their locked doors on the GTi, GLi and Golf R models, someone forgot to tell the VW folk that a) they are only VW's b) Audi's R8 was there for the sitting just 20 feet away at a higher price than all 3 put together; and last but not least BMW and their pricing sheets which showed "price as displayed" for x dollars but they neglected to include the accessory list, some highly so as in the grey 135i with a whopping $17,000 in dealer adds.
Odd negativity aside, I could sit here all night long going through the stuff I liked. Picked up some Meguiar's product for dirt cheap. Avoided the grossly overpriced food concession stands.
