The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 may be a gratuitously insane machine, but Peter Bleakney falls for its charms anyway.

Truly an epic SUV for under $60,000.  For sure the BMW X5M, Merc AMG, and Porsche are all better performers (especially the Porsche) but all would set you back many more $$.  For sure this is a very good vehicle but rather pointless in the grand scheme of things.  I mean it's for sure a very limited market for this type of vehicle.  I think I would get more use out of a Mustang GT and a base model Jeep Wrangler for around the same price.

What's even better than a Jeep GC SRT8....a Cadillac Escalade SLP with the top option 700 hp.
So you spend alittle more $$$$$$s.....watch the face of the SRT8 driver when you explode by him driving the "flying brick".

Hmmmmm.......should check my loto tickets.    ;)

But the SRT isn't on steroids. Find a s/c for that 6.4 hemi and watch the roles reverse.

Or a Twin Turbo setup like a person in my local area has done.  Talk about taking insanity to a whole new level.

If I hit the 6/49 or Lottomax, Mr Hennesey is going to recieve one of these from me and be told to make 'er quick. By far the most fun "family car" for the price. Great review of an absolutely insane vehicle.....sure the X5M, Cayenne turbo or AMG ML may be quicker and more refined.....but twice the price.
Lighten up Francis.....

Its observed 15.8 L/100 km thirst

Shiite...that's better than my F150 can muster as an average.  Weren't you using the gas pedal?
i noticed that too...i think i have seen similar numbers from some 4 cylinder and V6 SUVs that had half the power and displacement.

there's something special about this vehicle...not very practical, yet still desirable...it must be the kid in me.

I had about 5 minutes in one of these, and i noticed that they seem to have taken some of the edge off - the rough edges, but also the sharpness... i think if i had the money, I'd go with the first gen... and those centre tailpipes? so cool... not like I'd ever tow anything with it anyway. definitely on my dream-garage top 5 list.
