So about the same then, that's not too bad with that roof.

Here are the numbers for the Golf Wagen

Cargo Volume   32.8 ft3 / 0.93 m3
Cargo Volume with rear seats folded (floor to ceiling)   67 ft3 / 1.89 m3

Quote
thanks to 553-litres of boot space that increases to 1,719-litres with the (nearly) fold-flat rear seats down.

Stupid American market preventing this from coming over.

Frankly, I'm not crazy about the Sonata sedan.  But this.  This wagon looks fantastic.

What about BMW 3 wagon?  I don't necessarily mean in the same price range, I just mean compared to other wagons.

1 cubic foot = ~28.3 liters.

3 Series has 60 cubic feet with seats folded. = ~1,700 liters.

Ooh now this is more like it!!

So the i40 is essentially an Elantra Wagon, and not a Sonata Wagon?

I think I read somewhare it's a D-segment car for Europe. Being designed for Europe maybe it's smaller?

So the i40 is essentially an Elantra Wagon, and not a Sonata Wagon?

Info on Hyundai launching i40 sedan at Barcelona this week, i40 uses Sonata platform

From the side profile, the i40′s relation to the larger Sonata is readily apparent. Both cars share the same platform, but as we reported last week, the i40 sedan is shorter than the Sonata lengthwise, measuring 186.6 inches versus the Sonata’s 189.8 inches. This difference is mostly due to shorter front and rear overhangs.

Sedan looks nice but I prefer the wagon by a healthy margin.

Pretty snazzy. And I like that it's shorter than our Sonata - large interior but more compact exterior.

If we are getting this, man I hope they do better than Mazda with their wagon.
