That's a gorgeous colour picture, Bob.

---------

Here's some model car pictures (NOT mine) that I thought people here might be interested in seeing.

Thank you!

Ooh some lovely model cars there, you can never have too many IMHO.

I've never been to a comic book or Star Trek convention but, let's be honest, I have a geek streak a mile wide. There was a toy and comic show within walking distance of my house today so I figured I'd check it out. I re-learned the old lesson about "You snooze, you lose". I found an original, old boxing of the Revell kit of Ed Roth's Beatnik Bandit buried among a pile of goodies. I decided to make the rounds of the show taking pictures and then buy the kit before I left (I didn't want to be carrying the kit around AND trying to photograph the show...I've only got two hands). Sure enough, twenty minutes later, the kit was GONE! Sheesh...a thousand Trekkies in the room and somebody managed to find the one non-trek kit that I wanted!

I took the E-P1 and an external flash. I only used the flash for close-ups as the large hall made for distracting dark backgrounds in long shots. The nice thing about the E-P1 is that it actually fit inside my coat pocket so I could go to the show without at camera bag over my shoulder (Note:  the E-P1 is my micro 4/3 camera which has the same size sensor as my Olympus DSLRs). These pics were shot under available light at ISO 800 and turned out nicely thanks in part to the image stabilization built in to the E-P1 body (pictures shot at 1/4 and 1/5 of a second).

Anyway, I met this guy at the show.

Hey, I just realized the WINTER Photography Thread is about to become history (Yea!).

I'm going to sneak in a few of last minute pictures from today. These are from the back room at the Western Canada Aviation Museum.
