Indoor is usually better however if it's heated it may be worse than outdoor as frequent freezing/unfreezing is what causes rust.

When I'm working different hrs than my wife in the winter, I can use the heated underground parking. If not I'm banished to the outdoor garage. But if I had a choice, it would be in the heated parking area. It does produce some moisture due to coming in from the cold, however I like the idea of warming of the mechanicals, electricals when inside as I believe the warming of these items outways the possible increase of the rust factor.
