i think this is a good move for infiniti.  even if it doesn't sell in large numbers, it ups their perceived "greenness". 
the technology in this model could also be transplanted directly into the G-sedan/coupe, FX and EX giving infiniti more environmental cred with minimal R&D costs.... a win/win situation if they choose to go this route.
who knows, maybe we'll even get a hybrid 370Z out of this too.

At first I read that as the Infiniti Meh.

Ok so Nissan has been slapping their CVTs into everything, where everyone else is moving to 6-speed automatics. Now with a hybrid, they're going with a 7 speed, where almost everyone else uses a CVT or planetary gearset. Talk about contrarian!
