My Kind Of Car

But probably not what most here would want:

"Introducing the 2011 Mediocrity. Finally, A car that feels like every other sedan on the road today.

The mediocrity mission is to manufacture the most mainstream midsize sedan on the road today. Our company is extremely dedicated and passionate about ‘middle-of-the-road.’ Each and every day we strive for predictability, unoriginality and no-frills utilitarianism for all of your transportation needs. The 2011 Mediocrity will get you from A to B without anybody ever noticing, and that’s a good thing."

Price one out, build it, chose your colour of choice: Medium Crumb or Stale Biscuit for exterior; Chimminy Soot or Brown Gravel for interior.

Should go well with some folks!

I saw this ad a few weeks ago and I was wondering why was Subaru promoting a 1st gen Kia Magentis with 2nd gen Hyundai Accent headlights.

Yup, that's about right. Exactly the vehicle that most people want.

They seem to be referring to Toyota's products.  It probably makes sense for a family to have one reliable long term car and another 'fun' car.

It's cute that a company as styling-challenged as Subaru would call the other guys' cars dull.

I can be a sarcastic guy, but I find sarcastic advertising doesn't work for me...   comes off snarky, while I think quiet confidence works better...

Advertising dollars could have been better spent promoting the actual products methinks. Still nice to see imaginative work at work - or is that just complacency?  ;D

As has been pointed out in the Forester forum, it seems rather ironic that Subaru would be running an ad campaign like this when their recent success's have been built on vehicles that are more main-stream.  So who is calling the kettle black here I wonder?

But I do think its very well done and I got a chuckle out of it   :D

The sad thing is that probably 90% of vehicle buyers would be happy with the vehicle described on that web site.

Have you seen the milk advertising campaign lately?  Absolutely brilliant, and no milk products ever shown or mentioned.  It Works!
