2009 Lancer Sportback GTS

Does anyone know if this model will be sold in Canada. I did see a picture of the Sportback from the Montreal Autoshow but not much on details.

I did find info on MyTube, but it was mostly European based.

Any info would be appreciated.

  I'm not sure if it's accurate but according to  http://www.egmcartech.com/2008/12/02/2009-mitsubishi-lancer-sportback-coming-to-us-in-gts-and-ralliart-models-only/  It will be offered in Ralliart and GTS form in America. I have to suspect if its offered in the US where hatches don't seem popular that it will be in Canada where hatches are. Auto 123 seems to agree http://www.auto123.com/en/news/car-news/north-american-debut-of-the-mitsubishi-lancer-sportback-at-the-montreal-auto?model=Lancer+Sportback&carid=1094400600&artid=104328
  so hopefully they are right and this will be available by this fall.

 Good news for you!

I was at the Montreal auto show 2 weeks ago and not only did the Mitsu folks had many on display but they confirmed it will be here for sale this spring in the GTS and Ralliard formats.

Too bad I had bought the Sedan GTS just three weeks prior. That said I still love my Lancer GTS!

It's coming here sometime this spring. Both GTS and Ralliart. So I've heard.

They could not tell me the final prices but they indicated it would be just above the sedan price. My sedan GTS was $23,000, but if I include all the goodies I got with it, it was a bargain considering the driving dynamics, to me anyhow.

The sportsback did look good, but the trunk space was not that much more spacious than the sedan, although it seemed more practical if you had to carry something with the backseats down.
