The way things have been going, I might cease to bleed blue and white.

McCabe on the way out too?  (Good riddance - he should be a forward, not a defenceman)

I stopped in about '78 ;D

Probably still remember what it is like when your team wins the cup?  :)

Mats is still a free agent, and Vancouver threw $20 million for 2 years in front of him today.

So it appears then that money isn't the issue. He really has not decided to play yet and getting married may have something to do with all this.

They need somebody like Downie, who specializes in being a nasty, dirty piece of crap, with a talent for getting stupid penalties that hurt the team, while deliberately trying to give opponents permanent physical injuries.  Don Cherry would love him as a Leaf.

The only way to reduce violence in hockey and dirty little cheap shot :censor: like Downie is to remove the integrator rule and let the boys have freedom on the ice. I bet there would be multiple 70 goal scores a year in the NHL. Hockey now is ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz compared to the 80's.

He's not a Hab yet until a contract is actually signed.

I will bet you 20 virtual dollars that this does happen.

Well it looks like someone had better pay up.  LOL

Following the Mats Sundin saga has required as much patience as anyone could bare.  It just seemed to drag on forever and ever and ever and ........

The Canucks are my #2 team, and I do wish them and Sundin a whole lotta luck in the next two seasons.  But boy oh boy, I do hope that Sundin is quicker on the ice when it comes to making decisions, then he has been off the ice.
I can just see him now,

"Should I pass?  No, I'll shoot.  Well, just wait, maybe I'll pass and then head for the slot.  No, that may not work, so I'll skate behind the net.  Hang on a second guys, I'll do something after the next commercial break." ::) ::) ::)

The best thing about this deal is that's its for only one year, or in reality just the rest of this season.  I am glad the Canucks did not get him for 2 years as this will give them some idea if he will be able to really contribute.

I hope he does but....   :-\

Mats likes Vancouver, because there is no natural leader on that team as of now, and he will be the Go-To guy still.

Saturday, February 21, 2009.  Stay tuned.

What is Toronto gonna do? Trade him?

Well, not likely.  This will be Sundin's first chance to score a goal  in Toronto, on the Leafs net.
Hmmm, can you spell "hat-trick"?

I'm hoping Mat doesn't produce and is sent down to the Manitoba Moose!   :rofl2:

Mats is Swedish, Saab or Volvo for him. Would that put him in the Pro-Union / Buy Domestic category?
