Congrats Dave!  I was scheduled in a 135 to test but got bumped and put in a 3.2L A3 instead....
Geez, what a let down, Wing.

Need to work on your clout Wing  :P

Sorry to hear it Vmango, but hey, if the insurance covers it and you can get a new set of wheels with the good pricing and availability out there now, may work out. Glad to hear you're okay though.

Dave, what can I say?   :lick:  <--Me jealous.

Not to jack the thread, but the good news on the insurance is that I got everything back I put into the car.....which means I'm back at square one. I'm probably going to sit on the money for a few months and get by with one car in the family (which will suck but can be done). Said goodbye to the ole SS yesterday at the junk yard as I took off the rear plate.....she was a little 18 year old firecracker  ;) :'( A little immature and unrefined but very spunky....

Will start a new thread once the shopping begins....too many choices, and we'll have to see if deals override what I'm looking for. I do have 4-5 cars in mind thus far.....

So... what are the 4-5 you've got in mind?
The past:00 BMW M Rdstr, 19 Jetta, 15 Ducati Scrambler, 09 Triumph Bonneville, 98 Boxster, 17 Kawi Z900, 05 LS 430, 99 LS 400, 17 Subaru STI, 14 Triumph STR, 15 WRX, 09 Ducati Monster 1100,  08 335i, 06 Suzuki SV650S, 06 330i, 06 MX-5, 04 Audi A4, 03 Suzuki SV650S, 98 328i, 93 Civic Si, 85 Corolla

Selected for 1ntensity event
« Reply #641 on: May 30, 2008, 05:58:11 pm »
Hey all, I'm ressurecting this thread.

I got notified that I have been selected for the BMW "1 intensity" driving event. I'll be driving the 135i and cabriolet. IIRC, the event will be 2 hours, mostly behind wheel with instructor to showcase abilities of the 1 series. I'll give a review of how the event went afterwards.

It's in 2-3 weeks, depending on which weekend I pick and is still available - their computer system seems to be down now.

Looking forward baby!

Will post pics too.

Wait...now you have to win the opportunity to take a test-drive?  I thought that is something dealers tried to talk prospective purchasers into doing, not something prospective purchasers hoped to win in a raffle...

I get to go on a track and push the car to its limits. I think that is the main difference from a test drive on normal roads.

Gotcha.  Didn't realize you'd get some track time and the opportunity to do some 10/10ths driving.
