Hyundai Tiburon, 2002-2007

Hyundai Tiburon, 2002-2007A used Hyundai Tiburon "offers the promise of a nice-looking coupe at a reasonable price," says Contributing Editor, Chris Chase.  As little independent reliability data is available, he recommends reading Tiburon owner forums.

The Tiburon is a car that I haven't paid much attention to, but the '07 version is really quite attractive.

I remember being very disappointed with the transmission in the 2001 Tiburon.  I also continue to be disappointed with the poor performance of the V6 engine: low output and high fuel consumption is a bad combination.

I'm also interested to see that the Tiburon costs more used than an SRT4.  For my money, I would rather drive the Dodge - it might not have the looks, but they're quite well reviewed, and more importantly, actually have some power to their name.

That aside, I can't wait to see what Hyundai has in the works for the next-generation Tiburon.  Big power and RWD would make it a real contender, I think...

Apparently the handling is pretty hopeless as well.
