No, not a Maxi. How about the Austin 1800  aka the Land Crab.    2litres would certainly be plenty and the thing was cavernous inside

Oh dang, that's perfect.  And it's even got a trunk!

Make this slightly smaller than a modern Civic (say, the size of a Civic a couple generations ago), give it Mini's turbo 1.6L, and I'm sold.
