so how does the forum know which ads to pull up?

I noticed when I am reading the posts, the ads on the right side of the screen will adjust to match the messages.  For example, if I am reading a message about Kia, I see ads about Kia, Soreno, etc.  Reading a message about an Saab, I see ads for Saab of Thornhill.  That's pretty smart technology, lol.

Thats a service by google. It displays advertisements based on the content of the page. Google Ads.
