First Gen Prius (I) reports
« on: November 28, 2005, 05:25:39 am »
Hello I'm wondering if any owners of the first gen prius is still happy with their vehicle? I was thinking of buying one used for around 17g with 97000km on it. Is there anything I should look for in a used hybrid car? Or are they reliable as people claim they are to be.

Phil

17000 seems like way too much money for a car with 100,000 K. Also, there is concern that when hybrids his a certain age they will need a battery replacement which will be mucho expensive.

Also, first gen priuses are ugly (in my humble opinion.)

For $17000 youy could get another vehicle with almost equal efficiency and without the problems that new technolog have. I think I'd just buy a Civic, but that's me.

:iagree: with the above comments. I'd think real hard on that deal, IIWY. Hybrids have a ways to go yet and the Gen1's particularily. I would not do that personally.

just to update I saw one for 13500 for 170,000 km. Is that way too much still? Maybe I can bargin for 10000? then again if everything works ( he says its looks like new, new tires yada yada ) I can start getting crazy mileage since I'm a fuel economy freak.  Then again for the same price I could be getting a brand new honda fit 06 but then I'd have to wait ;(

oh and sale is private not dealer ;O
