larger tire size

hi there,my 1998 gmc 1/2 ton 4/4 came with p245/75/16 tires installed,I can get some LT235/85/16 tires at a good price at wal-mart made by goodyear{trail mark} on the side wall to do some off-roading and gravel road driving.My question is will it do much to the computer and how much will it effect my speedo,thank you in advance.

Are you sure the new tire is an 85?  In any event they both have the same radius.

Both tires are the same height. The 235/85/16 offers a little narrower track to cut through debris.

The LT235/85R16 will also have a higher load rating, and will be noticeably stiffer.  I kinda like the 'pizza cutter' tire look.   :)

If you go with an LT type tire then they are both 10 ply tires and will have identical load carrying capacity. The 235 is about 10mm narrower, so you will have the "Narrower Track".
