Winter Tires in Ottawa
« on: October 12, 2005, 01:37:42 pm »
Hi,

I'm getting ready to purchase a set of winter tires for the first time.
Driving a 2004 Suzuki Aerio and going for 185/65R14 s.
Any advice?

I'm leaning towards the Pirelli Winter Carvings.  - without the studs, of course
Also thought about the Dunlop M3's, but figured that would be overdoing it on the small wheels.

cheers

I've heard good things about the Pirelli, I am considering them as a possible future purchase when the need comes around again for me.

I have been running on Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires since 1996.

At the moment I'm using the Hakkapeliitta 2 on my Honda CR-V. They are far better than the TOYO Observe tires I had for a few years (I'm glad I went back to the Hakkas).

Call Dave Nally, the parts manager at Performance Mazda for either the tires alone or a wheel package, installed and balanced. 741-0123

You won't be sorry if you choose these.

Where's Scaerio? He has a new Suzuki Aerio and he also lives in Ottawa. He's the man to answer you.

Wow, Dave Nally is still there!  I'll vouch for both the Hakka's and Dave, who I bought from in 1998 and who proved to be a very stand up guy.  Something went wrong with the purchase and he fixed it right away.  Definitely a guy I would buy from again.
