narrowed it down to these 3: KW17, Ice Bear W300, and V901.  These are the characteristics I'm looking for in order dry handling, quiet, good in wet and snow.

What type of vehicle do you drive?  Where do you live (province/state)?

Have had great success with all three tires. If you want name brand rec's then Yoko. Great reviews and accolades then KW17. Great tire, best price, best wear and very good reviews W300. All the tires are good just boils down to what you feel comfortable buying. Very similar design as all offer an assymetric pattern. This something I am a big proponent of. Tire is optimized for the different road forces the tread experiences. Outer edge design for lateral and high-speed stability, Inner portin designed for deep snow and water evacuation. Easy to rotate as well. Only draw back is that it looks a little strange visually. You have the tires going one direction on the driver side and the other on the passeneger side. Many a comment, but it works.
